The rich Taokays who funded NY obviously have nothing better to do than to change the name of the school. To a positively revolting one at that. Chung Cheng Junior College a.k.a. CCJC. The school alumni came to school today to harvest support against the decision i.e. asking us to sign the petition. Hordes of people flocked to them in hope of retaining the better-sounding albeit cheena name of Nanyang. The decision shall be made next week by the committee.
Heard from the alumni that there actually was a rationale behind the change, and that was for the Chung Cheng integrated programme. Even if that was the case, the name can always be retained (IMO). So what if the names are same? It makes the committee happier, but pisses the student body off.
Come to think of it, I actually shouldn't be too bothered by this because my batch will probably not be affected by it. On with the better things in life...

Mugging term begins...
The drive to study still ain't high, but I know I have to gear it up soon. Don't want a repeat/repeats of the past 1.5 years. In the meantime, continue pia-ing, everyone.

Went for my aptitude cum IQ test at CMPB yesterday. Was supposed to be done last week together with the medical checkup, but bugger, the station closed 7 bloody minutes before I reached. Anyway, I had to spend my Wednesday morning doing math problems without a calculator, which was quite irritating. Then they asked some dumb physics questions which didn't require much hesitation. When I reached the last section, which was identifying number patterns, I was freezing in the room and dying to get out. So I simply skipped the last few questions, completed the final questionnaires, and bailed.
Jay-walked to the bus-stop and saw this RJC guy (Joseph) whom I talked to last Wednesday. While waiting for the train at the station, our conversation about mundane issues suddenly took a change for the better:
Me: You know who (censored) is? She's in
my school and was from your primary school.
Joseph: (censored) (censored surname) is it?
Me: Yeah. She's quite pretty right?
Joseph: Ok lah... So-so only... But can pass lah...
Me: -Raises an eyebrow-
Joseph: But she's les right?
I couldn't help but laugh inside me. I mean, he even knows this kind of thing, considering the fact that they haven't seen each other for so many years (I assume). And his opinion about her appearance? If she's "so-so only", then there sure as hell isn't any hope for the girls in my school.
Disclaimer: No names appeared in the aforementioned conversation, so if you have any idea who the person is, it's probably not her, unless you gather all the les in NY and start guessing. Then again, I might have lousy taste, so yeah, it could always be the ugly one.
